The 26th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration is being held on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the magnificent Howard Chenery Auditorium in Kalamazoo.  This event is sponsored by the Northside Ministerial Alliance in partnership with Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, and the City of Kalamazoo.  Our speaker is The Rev. Dr. Otha Gilyard, founding President of the Northside Ministerial Alliance and former Pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.  He currently serves as Pastor of Shiloh Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio.

The Celebration will feature the 2012 MLK Young Adult Choir.  SINGERS are needed!  All singers up to 25 years old are invited to participate.  Rehearsals are:

• Saturday, January 7 at noon, Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 120 Roberson St.
• Saturday, January 14 at 6:00 p.m., location TBD
• Saturday, January 21 at noon, location TBD

In addition, we will present the NEW Rev. Dr. Otha Gilyard Community Service Award to someone who has demonstrated excellence in serving our community.
